Your oil-fired boiler is at the heart of your central heating system and works for more hours throughout the year than most other appliances in your home.
Because your boiler is often out of sight, out of mind, it is easy to forget about it until something goes wrong. However, it is unlike other appliances such as your washing machine, fridge or cooker; because your boiler actually becomes less efficient and costs you more if you do not service it regularly.
It should be dismantled, cleaned out and re-set at least annually.
